Can India become a digital superpower?

Written by Nitin Dahad on Monday, 26 October 2015.

Last month (September 2015) saw a wave of euphoria about India as the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited and wooed the who’s who of Silicon Valley. He seemed to have rock star status as many of the CEOs of Silicon Valley tried to jump on the India bandwagon to raise their profile among India’s 1.2 billion plus population. Written by Fabrice Grinda on Thursday, 02 April 2015.

It's been a while since I posted a missive on our venture investments and I felt it was long overdue given the fundamental changes we've made to our strategy.

We've also been on fire of late with the IPO of Alibaba Group and Lending Club, the exits of Brightroll and Sunrise and several of our seed investments passing the billion dollar valuation mark like Delivery Hero and FanDuel.

Written by Mark Suster on Thursday, 26 March 2015.

Last week Fred Wilson and I sat down in Santa Monica for an hour+ discussion with the video cameras rolling.

One of the questions we discussed was, "How much capital should a startup raise?" Fred & I are both in agreement that there is a tension between capital constraints and creativity. In his words,

[in some instances] "because lots of capital is available, the company takes on the capital and that ends up resulting in no constraints on decision making and so the company decides to do five things in stead of just one."
